As part of Elektron's launch focusing on the theme of network infrastructure, Serge Ecker presents "Passages." This new artwork explores how the network of mines that crisscross the underground landscape of the former mining region of Esch-sur-Alzette is now used for telecommunication data transport.

Biography

  • Serge Ecker is an artist based in Luxembourg. His work explores craftsmanship, notions of memory and improvisation, as well as the vanity associated with new technologies. His works have been exhibited at the Luxembourg Pavilion of Architecture at the 15th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, Centre des Arts Pluriels (Ettelbruck), Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Kunstraum (Vienna), Technopolis (Athens), Abbaye de Neumünster (Luxembourg), Centre d’Art Dominique Lang (Dudelange), and Casino Luxembourg.
