REESCH E’Vol

The Biennale will open on May 17th and 18th, with the nocturnal spectacle "Reesch E'vol". Blending contemporary art and circus arts, the show explores the metamorphosis of Esch-sur-Alzette, an industrial city turned cultural capital.

First presented during the Night of Culture 2022, the show "Reesch", a fusion of "Rees" (journey in Luxembourgish) and Esch, narrated the city's cultural metamorphosis. As the Biennale 2024 approaches, the spectacle returns with a new chapter "Reesch E'vol", symbolizing the confirmed cultural ascent of the city.

Featuring over thirty artists on stage, the performance intertwines talented acrobats with international careers and promising local dancers, specially selected and trained alongside an exceptional artistic team.

The original script by Sean McKeown (Cirque du Soleil) is beautifully orchestrated by Crystal Manich and Mukhtar O. S Mukhtar, renowned for their talents showcased in grand events, from Cirque du Soleil to the Super Bowl halftime show, and the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

Co-produced by Violeta Frank (VF ART PROJECTS) and the Nuit de la Culture, "Reesch E'vol" promises a magical 50-minute immersion into the cultural richness of Esch.
