La Nuit des architectes
Discover the behind-the-scenes of architecture offices for an extraordinary afterwork evening.
What if you could step into the shoes of an architect for a few hours?
We couldn't celebrate a Biennale on the theme of architecture without celebrating those who build our city of tomorrow. Esch-sur-Alzette is a city undergoing transformation, with a rich history and a promising future in urban development and architecture. It boasts an impressive density of architects and aspiring architects.
On July 12th, architects invite you to discover the behind-the-scenes of their offices through an urban tour.
How does a project come to life? Who is involved in creating these new spaces? How is a space conceived? What are the achievements of the offices? What issues do they address? What inspires and motivates them? These are just some of the questions you will find answers to during this diverse and enriching tour.
What's on the agenda?
Guided tours, art exhibitions, film screenings, aperitif dinners, and more.

MANIFESTO24
is the collective attempt of articulating positions, attitudes, and ambitions. Starting from humble achievements, MANIFESTO24 takes the form of a prospective portfolio. A plan for the next 10 years. (exhibition at Tunnel)
THE FOG OF ARCHITECTURE
The discipline is rarely a straight trajectory. Within regulations, rules, standards, wishes, desires, budgets and planning, architecture as a process is rather a foggy situation (model installation at Garage)
AFFOGATO
Our Italian collaborators share their favorite guilty pleasure: part café, part ice-cream.
Urban planning, architecture, and interior design - come discover the many disciplines that shape the living spaces of our society.
Explore our workspace, where our team will reveal the ways we design for today and tomorrow.
When art meets infrastructure - come discover a space dedicated to our fruitful collaborations with the artist Nico Thurm from Esch, which have resulted in iconic infrastructure projects, including the recent Vëlodukt and Nordstrooss.
Everyone is welcome to join us for a moment of sharing over a summer aperitif.
Beng Architectes Associés invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look at the work of an architect, with a guided tour of its offices, giving you an insight into the workings and organisation of a major architectural practice. The visit will be punctuated by an exhibition of works of art by local artists. You will also be able to watch the films produced as part of our "Souwäit" art project, in a specially converted outdoor metal cube.
The visit will be accompanied by a relaxed cocktail reception on our panoramic terrace, with a breathtaking view of the Belval blast furnaces.
For the Night of Architects, Carvalhoarchitects invites you to discover the world of architecture through our specially designed program:
• Open House: Visit our office and discover our work environment.
• Project Visualization: Explore the projects completed by our firm, exhibited for the occasion.
• Information: Learn more about how an architecture office operates and about our various services.
• Aperitif: Enjoy a convivial moment with an aperitif in a relaxed atmosphere.
We hope to see many of you for this unique evening.
WW+ opens its doors and invites you to immerse into the work environment of a planning office. In the spaces of a converted joiner's workshop, visitors can engage with architects and urbanists, gain an impression of the variety of tasks of an architecture, urban planning, and process design office. A presentation of selected projects realised in Esch-sur-Alzette allows for dialogue with planners about local building tasks and urban development. Visitors can round off their exploration with a drink in a relaxed atmosphere.
On July 12, as part of the Nuit des Architectes, Cultures of Assembly will present the framing of the forthcoming research project “The Esch Clinics” (2024-27) at their space on 14 rue du Brill.
“The Esch Clinics” is a research project that will investigate the urban practices and situations that lie outside the constructed frame of established institutional narratives. The research puts its central focus on the social relations, places, and how they are being occupied and give shape to the urban environment.
The project will develop an alternative guide to communing in Esch. The project includes collective research, fieldwork, recordings (photographic, videographic, audio), leading interviews and curated conversations with local, regional, and international stakeholders, organize gatherings and civic assemblies, and map relevant existing practices in order to produce research that will, ultimately, lead to a catalogue of urban policies recommendations.
