Compagnie Kiaï - Pulse

PULSE is a radically choreographic form. A generous circus piece where physical commitment lies at the heart of the matter. The scenography is minimalist. A bouncing space of 9 meters in diameter propels the acrobats into an aerial ballet where the musical pulsation sets the tone.

Six heads, twelve arms, and twelve legs synchronize in an acrobatic trance that appeals to the senses rather than the mind. The six artists pool their vocabularies to create a common language. Through ensemble work, they become a group, a tribe. The choreographic score unfolds on all levels. The heat rises, the heartbeat quickens, and bodies unfold in all dimensions.

Acrobatics are at play, pushing the limits of physics. There is no more gravity, up, down, inside out, or right side up; earth and air merge. By disrupting reference points, the six playmates invite the audience to be penetrated by the raw energy of acrobatics. They embark them on a sensory journey where the smell of sweat mixes with the sounds of breaths and colliding bodies…
